Should I get Rick's Prague guidebook (or Prague Pocket guide) in addition to this Eastern Europe book?. If you're spending only a few days in Prague, Rick Steves Eastern Europe is all you're likely to need.

If, however, you're spending four days or more in Prague, or at least a week in the Czech Republic as a whole, the extra information in Rick Steves Prague can be : Rick Steves. Labour Day: 9 May: Europe Day (not published in since it falls on Saturday) 21 May: Ascension Thursday: 22 May: the Friday following Ascension Day 1 June: Whit Monday: 21 July: Belgian National Day: 15 August: Assumption (not published in since it falls on Saturday) 1 November: All Saints' Day (not published in since it falls on Economy: Budget, Central bank, Agricultural.

I know that there are many who would say that Rome belongs on the list of Europe's truly great cities, but I think the great cities of Europe are London and Paris. With days, you have a chance to thoroughly visit both cities and take side trips, and the train ride from London to Paris is only a few hours.

Florence needs 3 nights and 2 days, Venice needs 2 nights and 1 day. Never been to Dublin so I don't know. For 16 days including travel days, I would just choose one side of Europe: either London, Paris and Dublin (maybe you can add Amsterdam or Belgium) OR Venice, Florence and Rome (you can add Milan, Lake Como or Cinque Terre).

As you already recognise, there's too much in Europe to fit it all in in 21 days. That's OK. I've lived in Europe for most of my life and at 36 still have barely touched the surface:) All of those destinations are lovely.

Consider booking an open jaw though; fly into city A, home from city B. There are 47 countries in Europe, and apart from the tiniest ones, every country offers enough sights and activities to keep you amused for at least 14 days - in some countries 14 weeks would actually be more like it.

So please do yourself a favour and stop thinking in terms of "5 countries in 14 days", even though arizona rightly pointed out. I think it looks way too rushed.

You only have 2 full days in London (one of which will be jetlagged) and 2 full days in Paris, which is not enough for only have 1 full day in Rome. From London to Paris, take the can (I think) book 6 months in advance on the US website.

Greece and Turkey: Greece is currently connected by train to other Eurail countries via Macedonia and Bulgaria; Turkey is connected by train to Bulgaria, but service is sparse.

Flying is the best way to reach Athens, Thessaloniki, or Istanbul from any major city in Europe. 2 To 22 Days in Europe 2 editions - first published in Rick Steves' Europe (map) (Rick Steves) 2 editions - first published in Rick Steves' Europe Through the Back Door 2 editions - first published in Two to Twenty-Two Days in Great Britain 2 editions - first published in   Seeing Europe by campervan is a great experience!

If you have only 7 days in Europe, a campervan might just be the best way to spend that time. Europe in 2 Weeks Travel Ideas Spain: Northern Spain’s Beaches (Basque Country, Asturias, and Galicia) This is a great 2 week Spain travel itinerary.

I'm planning a trip to Italy with my fiance (recently purchased Rick's Italy Guidebook) We are planning on going for 22 days (mid-September-early October). I would like to know if Rick's Favorite Itinerary is feasible (we will be traveling by train).
